WIE485

Wiegand is a standard communication protocol used by contactless card readers. Wie485 allows you to convert the protocol to the industry standard RS485 bus. Thanks to Wie485 you can connect contactless readers with Wiegand protocol to your computer. Wie485 can also generate the Wiegand protocol - for example to simulate contactless readers.

The output of the Wie485 is either the number of the existing card, or directly a set of all bits received from the Wiegand protocol, which can be read by the RS485 using the MODBUS RTU protocol. The Wie485 can also generate Wiegand based on the information received via MODBUS RTU.

The current mode - for example conversion from Wiegand > RS485 or from RS485 > Wiegand - can be selected via switches located on the top side.

Wie485 is a MODBUS Slave device that processes Wiegand protocol data (any type: 1 to 64 bits). As for Wiegand output, Wie485 can generate Wiegand in lengths up to 64 bits. The RS485 line to the converter is galvanically isolated from other parts of the device.
